Welcoming Preeti Bhattacharji to the Victoria Foundation Board

Preeti-Headshot-v3

We are proud to welcome Preeti Bhattacharji to the Victoria Foundation Board of Trustees. Preeti joins us at a pivotal moment, as we deepen our commitment to align all of our resources towards community stability, self-determination and success through the Thriving Neighborhoods Initiative.

"Preeti brings expertise in a number of areas, especially in sustainable and mission-aligned investing. She will be a great addition to the board and a tremendous asset as we work to align every dollar we steward with our mission and the community's vision for Newark." said Craig Drinkard, Executive Officer of Victoria Foundation. "We are honored to have her insight and leadership as we build toward generational well-being alongside the people of Newark."

Preeti brings more than a decade of experience in sustainable investing. As Head of Sustainable Investing for J.P. Morgan's U.S. Private Bank, she helps clients weave sustainability into their investment portfolios. Her path also includes formative work as Vice President of Integrated Capitals at the F.B. Heron Foundation, where she helped align the foundation's endowment with its mission.

"I'm honored to join the Victoria Foundation Board at such a meaningful moment in its work," said Preeti Bhattacharji. "Victoria Foundation understands that every resource we hold can be a tool for justice, and that real, lasting change happens when we align our capital with the vision of the community itself. I look forward to partnering with this board, this team, and the people of Newark to help build a future where philanthropy advances the priorities of the people it serves."

Preeti's career reflects a blend of financial rigor and social justice values. She has held roles at Calvert Research & Management and the Council on Foreign Relations, teaches at Columbia University, and serves on the Investment Committee of the Nathan Cummings Foundation.

As we explore impact investing and work to align our endowment with our values, Preeti's expertise will be invaluable. She holds a grounded understanding how philanthropy can move all of its capital toward justice, not just its grant dollars.

We are grateful Preeti has chosen to lend her talents to Newark. Together, we will continue building a future where our resources reflect our values and advance the priorities of the people who call this city home.
