    Victoria Foundation Announces New Online Proposal Process

    Dear Victoria Foundation Applicant:

    Victoria Foundation is pleased to announce that we have moved to an online grants management system. We no longer accept paper proposals. We hope this upgrade to an online system will make it easier for you to apply for grants from the Foundation and to submit reports. Some of the features are:

    • Grantee organization information will pre-populate in subsequent proposals thereby eliminating the need for re-entering the same data every time you apply for a grant;
    • History of your proposals will be saved in your grantee portal so you always know what you have applied for;
    • Real-time data and reminders can be transmitted to grantees; and
    • Grantee reports with benchmarks can be submitted online.

    We understand that this is a big change. We have instructions to help you get started (Click here for the instructions). Our Grants Manager, Chui Chan, is available to answer any questions that you might have and you can reach her at 973-792-9200 ext. 103 or cchan@victoriafoundation.org. We thank you for going through this process with us, and we are looking forward to getting your proposals for the Spring 2018 grant cycle via our new online system. The link for new applicants to submit a Letter of Intent is: https://www.GrantRequest.com/SID_5644?SA=SNA&FID=35029 and it is due on January 5, 2018. The link to apply online for returning grantees will be sent to returning grantees about a month before the grant proposal due date of January 16, 2018. If you did not receive the link or have any other questions, please contact Chui Chan.

    Attention all Newark public schools (traditional & charter): Please be advised that we will be using intermediaries for our public school grantmaking over the next two years. To learn more, Click here.

    We welcome your feedback to this new online system.

    Best,

    Irene Cooper-Basch
    Executive Officer

    Victoria Foundation is a private grantmaking institution, which was founded in 1924 by Mr. Hendon Chubb in honor of his mother, Victoria Eddis Chubb. Since the early 1960’s the Foundation’s trustees have targeted giving to programs that impact the cycle of poverty in Newark, New Jersey. In the 1970’s, a second priority was initiated to protect the environment throughout the state of New Jersey. Within Newark, funded projects address K-12 education reform, neighborhood revitalization, and strengthening youth and families.

    Victoria Foundation is one of the oldest private foundations in America. Hendon Chubb created the Foundation in 1924 in order to improve the lives of those less fortunate than himself. Today, Victoria Foundation has a two-fold mission:

    To improve the lives of children and families in need in Newark, New Jersey; and to protect water resources and preserve precious open space statewide.

    To fulfill its Newark mission, the Foundation seeks to

    • improve educational outcomes for young people
    • stabilize and revitalize distressed neighborhoods
    • promote civic engagement and leadership
    • increase job training and placement opportunities
    • help children develop into healthy adults
    • strengthen families and prevent crises

    Victoria Foundation’s program areas are Education, Neighborhood Development & Urban Activities, Youth and Families, and in Environment it is statewide grantmaking related to the environment targets

    • the New Jersey Highlands
    • the Pinelands National Reserve
    • Kittatiny Ridge & Valley Region
