The Victoria Foundation makes grants to support the revitalization of the city of Newark.
In partnership with the nonprofit sector and Mayor Cory Booker’s administration, the Foundation hopes to both stabilize distressed neighborhoods and to improve the working and living conditions of Newark residents. We provide ongoing operating support for Newark’s strong array of Community Development Corporations (CDCs)—La Casa de don Pedro, Ironbound Community Center, New Community Corporation and others—which work to create affordable housing, local parks, preschool centers and commercial facilities as a means of shoring up and strengthening neighborhoods. CDCs also provide job training, educational programs, and healthcare services based upon the particular needs of local residents.
