Since the early 1960’s the Foundation’s trustees have targeted giving to programs that impact the cycle of poverty in Newark, New Jersey. In the 1970’s, a second priority was initiated to protect the environment throughout the state of New Jersey. Within Newark, funded projects address K-12 education reform, neighborhood revitalization, and strengthening youth and families. Victoria Foundation has supported Frost Valley YMCA’s Newark Campership Program since 1976. Each year, more than 140 Newark children participate in a high quality summer residential camp experience at Frost Valley’s beautiful 6,000-acre site in the Catskills. Frost Valley is dedicated to diversity and inclusiveness, and all of its programs promote the principles of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.
